Six disciplines, grounded in operating experience
TeakCharge works across six areas for PE funds and portfolio companies, established tech businesses, corporates, and family business owners. Each is built from direct operating experience in the markets and functions in question. The differentiator across all six: TeakCharge is built for implementation, not the deck. The value sits in translating a diagnosis into named initiatives someone actually owns inside a real organisation.
Engagements run on founder discipline: Alex works a client's commercial problem the way he ran his own company, owning the outcome, not the deliverable. See the commercial architecture methodology behind the work and how an engagement actually runs.
Commercial Architecture and Revenue Strategy
For: PE-backed companies, established tech businesses, and scale-ups past product-market fit whose commercial team is executing on instinct rather than a repeatable system.
The problem: the revenue engine works at one stage and stops working at the next, winning some deals, losing others, with no structure to know why or system to scale. The problem is rarely the product; it is the commercial architecture, how customers are segmented, how the go-to-market motion is designed, what the channel and pricing logic is, and whether the organisation knows which metrics signal health.
What TeakCharge does: a three-layer diagnostic (market fit, motion design, operating infrastructure), producing a one-page commercial architecture map and an implementation roadmap concrete enough to hand to an internal team or a new commercial hire on day one.
The record: Alex ran the Devices and Services APAC revenue line at Google and built Samsung's luxury Micro-LED channel from zero. He has run the P&L this diagnostic is built for, and applies the same work hands-on with early-stage companies in his own investment portfolio.
PE Commercial Due Diligence and Value Creation
For: PE funds evaluating a commercial acquisition, and portfolio companies post-close.
The problem: a market-size analysis is not due diligence. Funds need an operator's read on whether the revenue is clean and repeatable before close, and post-close, value-creation theses often stall because they never convert into named, owned initiatives.
What TeakCharge does:
- Pre-close: a structured commercial assessment of revenue quality, go-to-market effectiveness, channel architecture, and value-creation pathways
- Post-close: a 90-day commercial transformation plan with named initiatives and clear ownership
The record: as Managing Director and Partner at a prior advisory firm, Alex led the buy-side commercial due diligence for a leading Asia-focused PE fund's acquisition, mapping the target's growth roadmap to its commercial upside under bear, base, and upside scenarios. The deal closed.
Market Entry and Geographic Expansion
For: companies expanding across the Asia, Europe, and US corridor in either direction.
The problem: a go-to-market model that works at home does not transfer. Procurement paths, partner expectations, and regulatory requirements differ by market, and hiring a regional lead before the motion is proven burns 12 to 18 months of runway on a person with no playbook to execute.
What TeakCharge does:
- A market-sequencing plan
- Partner and channel selection
- The regulatory and localisation pathway
- A first-100-days launch plan
The record: at Samsung, Alex built the US channel partner network from zero to material initial sales and secured EU regulatory certification for its connected-car platform; at McKinsey, he architected a European market-entry blueprint for global Tier 1 banks. He has operated this corridor in both directions personally, not from a single-market playbook.
See the approach in the open: APAC Go-to-Market Country Intelligence scores 22 Asia-Pacific markets across three go-to-market lenses from public data, free to download and reuse.
Growth and Investment Advisory
For: corporates and funds weighing a new business model or product line, or sourcing partnership, investment, and acquisition targets. (New-geography moves belong under Market Entry above.)
The problem: growth bets get greenlit on a slide and stall because no one owns translating the thesis into an operating model. And the sourcing behind them is usually either too broad (a market report) or too narrow (a banker's shortlist), with nothing filtering at real scale against the actual strategic thesis.
What TeakCharge does:
- Business-model and product-line evaluation
- New business-line evaluation and build support, from investment thesis through to operating plan
- AI-assisted target screening, diligence, and post-merger integration for a defined investment or acquisition thesis
The record: at a prior advisory firm, Alex developed new business initiatives for global agribusiness and agrifood groups; under TeakCharge, he designed an AI-powered investment screening and M&A target evaluation system for a leading Asian firm, adopted as the client's standard; at Samsung, he ran strategic M&A pipeline scans across multiple technology verticals; and he co-published EDB research papers on corporate innovation in Southeast Asia.
AI Advisory
For: companies anywhere on the AI adoption curve, from a single process to a full redesign.
The problem: most AI adoption stalls at the pilot stage. A tool gets bolted onto an unchanged process, so nothing compounds.
What TeakCharge does:
- An AI maturity diagnostic spanning process-level automation through agentic redesign
- A prioritised roadmap
- Hands-on build support
The record: Alex advises APAC founders, corporates, and family offices on AI platform selection, API integration strategy, and technology investment exposure, and built and runs his own multi-LLM diagnostic methodology across several AI platforms. The advice comes from daily practice: TeakCharge runs on the same AI-native workflows it recommends.
Next-Generation Family Business Advisory
For: next-generation owners of Asian family businesses taking on, or preparing to take on, commercial responsibility.
The problem: the business is established; the transition is not. The next generation inherits a commercial model built by the founder generation for a different market, and has to modernise it, professionalise it, and make it their own, often while the founder generation is still in the room.
What TeakCharge does: commercial strategy and confidential sparring for next-generation owners.
- Modernising the commercial model
- Evaluating new business lines and technology adoption
- Building the operating structures the next phase of the business needs
The record: Alex is a next-generation mentor for APAC family businesses and has held a board seat at one of their businesses, alongside two decades of operating experience across the region's markets and a personal understanding of what it takes to run a P&L under an owner's scrutiny.
